ÒRAN

[ oh-RAHN ]

Centering authenticity and expressiveness in performance, Òran is the busiest adult choir in the Kokopelli Choirs family. Along with many Kokopelli alumni, the group has singers from many other walks of life, but all share a passion for choral music and singing. Òran has garnered a growing reputation for excellence in choral singing as well as innovative and eclectic programming.

Òran has toured extensively over its nearly twenty years, with destinations including Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Quebec, Cuba, Germany, France, and the Czech Republic. The choir has also been honoured by two invitations to sing at Podium, Canada’s biennial national conference for choral music. Closer to home, Òran is thrilled to share the stage with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra a few times every season.

We are so sad that the COVID-19 pandemic has forced us to cancel the end of our current season, but we're working hard on some exciting plans for 2020-2021 and hope you will join us once it's safe to do so!

Singing in Òran is like singing with your best friends every week.

Sing with us!

Òran has completed auditions this spring but may be schedulling more auditions in the fall.  If you're interested in an audition, email us: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Auditions are like a friendly mini voice lesson: no experience is expected or required. We will make you feel as comfortable as possible and we're excited to meet you! You just need a device (phone, tablet, or laptop) to attend. You'll receive the link to the private virtual audition after you sign up.

Òran rehearses Thursdays from 7:15-10 PM at McDougall United Church (10025 101 St), September through June each season.

Please note that bursaries are available, and we make every effort to ensure that financial considerations never preclude a qualified singer from being part of the choir! We also provide many fundraising opportunities to help offset touring and other expenses.
