After last year's successful pilot project, we are thrilled to announce the return of Kokopelli Choirs' summer camp program! Kokopelli's Summer Music Camp is a five-day camp experience for singers aged 8 to 12 years.
  • WHEN
    July 15-19, 2019

Pavillion Lacerte (Grand Salon), 8406 Rue Marie-Anne Gaboury
Campus St. Jean, University of Alberta, Edmonton

Campers must be 8 to 12 years of age as of July 15, 2019.
The camp will run 9 AM to 4 PM, with childcare available between 8:20 AM and 5:00 PM.
  • COST
The fee to participate in Kokopelli's Summer Music Camp 2019 is $275, which includes a camp t-shirt and printed choral music to keep.
Kokopelli's Summer Music Camp will be led by Kokopelli Choirs' own Carmen So, director of our children's choir Kikimasu. Rooted solidly in the Kodaly and Orff methods of instruction, this camp will provide students with the opportunity to learn about music through singing, playing various percussion instruments, and creative movement. In addition to learning how to sing as a choral ensemble, campers will have the chance to explore music through drumming, playing barred instruments such as glockenspiels, xylophones, and metallophones, folk dance, and plenty of song-based books and games to build their skills and have fun!

Campers will have the opportunity to make connections with new friends through song-based games and play, choral singing, playing percussion instruments as an ensemble, and folk dance. The children will also receive daily art classes and the opportunity for supervised, unstructured outdoor play.

A celebration of learning concert will held on the final day of the camp, Friday, July 19.
