Stephanie Urquhart is a pianist and composer based in Edmonton. As an accompanist, she has played for Ballet Edmonton, Kokopelli Choir Association, Alberta Opera, Citadel Theatre, MacEwan University, YONA-Sistema Choir, Orchesis Dance, and the T.I.M.E Association choirs. Stephanie is also an active member of Edmonton's theatre scene working as a music director and pit musician on both piano and trombone, and is a regular performing improvising musician with Rapid Fire Theatre. She’s released several albums under her own name and frequently collaborates with other bands and musicians including local video game band, Experience Points. Stephanie’s music and arrangements have been heard across North America, and she has been recognized for her compositions on an international level by the International Society of Jazz Composers and Arrangers in both 2017, and 2019. She has written commissions for Big Bands including Seattle Women’s Jazz Orchestra, River City Big Band, and MacEwan Faculty/Alumni Big Band, and won 2nd place in the 5th Annual Jazz Composition Contest for Women Composers.
