KIKIMASU

[kee-kee-MAHS ]

Kokopelli’s auditioned children’s ensemble, Kikimasu (pronounced “kee-kee-mahs”), is celebrating its fourteenth season in 2022-2023. With a focus on Kodaly and Dalcroze music education methodology, the choir fosters beautiful singing and strong musicianship skills in its young members. Kikimasu was featured, alongside Shumayela, at the 2016 Podium conference—Canada’s biennial choral conference—here in Edmonton. The group also placed first in the children’s choir category in the National Music Festival in 2015 and again at the Provincial Excellence level (now the highest level for choirs in our part of the country) in 2019.

Kikimasu has returned to regular in-person rehearsals, with several layers of COVID safety in place to protect singers and staff.

All Kikimasu's artistic staff are fully vaccinated. Some COVID safety measures will remain in place through the season, which may vary by choir and may be adjusted through the season according to pandemic conditions.

Share in the joy of singing as we learn new music, play singing games, build our singing and musicianship skills, enjoy rhythm and movement, and more!

The choir is a safe place for my child to sing her heart out and develop her skills.
