KIKIMASU

[kee-kee-MAHS ]

Kokopelli’s auditioned children’s ensemble, Kikimasu (pronounced “kee-kee-mahs”), will enter its ninth season in 2017/2018.

Kikimasu offers a focus on thorough and excellent music education, with singers learning about healthy vocal production, the body-voice connection, and vibrant performance presence, as well as an emphasis on musical literacy, music theory, and sightsinging skills. As with all our ensembles, Kikimasu provides a secure and accepting social environment where all singers feel their importance as members of the group. Most importantly, Kikimasu has fun and creates exciting music! Kikimasu means “hear it” in Japanese.

The choir is a safe place for my child to sing her heart out and develop her skills.
Jill Stetsko, Kikimasu Parent

Sing with us!

Kikimasu is now booking auditions for the coming 2017-2018 season. We are also holding an open rehearsal soon – come and sing with us, check out the choir for free!

Kikimasu rehearses Wednesdays 5:15-7:15 PM at Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church (10815 76 Ave.)

Please note that bursaries are available, and we make every effort to ensure that financial considerations never preclude a qualified singer from being part of the choir! We also provide many fundraising opportunities to help offset touring and other expenses.
