ÒRAN

[ oh-RAHN ]

Centering authenticity and expressiveness in performance, Òran is the busiest adult choir in the Kokopelli Choirs family. Along with many Kokopelli alumni, the group has singers from many other walks of life, but all share a passion for choral music and singing. Òran has garnered a growing reputation for excellence in choral singing as well as innovative and eclectic programming.

Òran has toured extensively over its nearly twenty years, with destinations including Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Quebec, Cuba, Germany, France, and the Czech Republic. The choir has also been honoured by two invitations to sing at Podium, Canada’s biennial national conference for choral music. Closer to home, Òran is thrilled to share the stage with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra a few times every season.

Singing in Òran is like singing with your best friends every week.

*Please note that we are only accepting tenor and bass auditions for new auditionees this session, due to balance concerns.*

Auditions are like a friendly mini voice lesson.  We will make you feel as comfortable as possible and we're excited to meet you!

Òran is delighted to plan a return to in-person rehearsals for our coming 2021-2022 season! The choir rehearses Thursdays from 7:15-10 PM, September through May at McDougall United Church (10025 101 St).

Òran's artistic staff is fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Kokopelli Choirs also requires that all Òran members participating in-person be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Many other COVID safety measures are in place..

Please note that bursaries are available, and we make every effort to ensure that financial considerations never preclude a qualified singer from being part of the choir!
